The municipalities of Sint Truiden and Landen, Infrabel an Electrabel founded a consortium to invest jointly in the largest wind power project in Belgium, with about 20 turbines each having a capacity of 2 to 3 megawatts, representing a total of 40 to 60 MW.

The turbines will enter operation gradually from 2010 onwards. Once the wind farm is complete it will produce between 100 000 and 140 000 MWh/year (enough to supply 40 000 households) and avoid CO₂ emissions of around 60 000 tonnes annually.

The permitting procedure to realize the project has been started with public information sessions.
